Zhongshan Park
Zhongshan Park (in simplified Chinese ????) is located at the south of Zhonghua Road in Heping District. This beautiful park covers an area of 16.1 hectares. It was constructed in 1924. During the period of Japanese Occupation, the Japanese Puppet Regime called this park the “Chiyoda” Park. In 1946, in order to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen, father of modern China, the government decided to change the name of the park into “Zhongshan Park.”
Many people might think that this park is related to Dr. Sun. Some may think that Dr. Sun once visited this park, some might think that it was built by Dr. Sun. Well, actually, it is not. It is just one of the many places in China, which uses the name to commemorate what Dr. Sun has done to promote democracy in China and to change China to China nowadays.
In Zhongshan Park, there are regions. The central region is a sedimentation tank and there are some very long, elegant corridors. The south-west region is a theme park for children. On the other hand, the south-east region is grassland rockery region, while the northwest region another amusement park for children. Finally, the northeast region of the Park is “A Better Garden” and it is a base to cultivate various kinds of flowers.
Inside the part, there are a lot of extensions of roads, and alongside the roads, there are a lot of trees, flowers, etc, creating a very quiet, beautiful place. In such a rapidly developing city like Shenyang, this park has a very special mission, which is to provide a place for citizens to enjoy a breath of fresh air and relax.
The transportation to this park is very convenient. Although the park does not have any special points to attract you to come, you are still recommended to go to the park to have a relaxing afternoon if you are fed up with the rush life in a tour to Shenyang. After refreshing yourself, you might be more energetic and enjoy the rest of your trip better!
