Southern Lake Park (in simplified Chinese????) is located at the southern part of Shenyang City. It is a park which is located at the lower reaches of the southern river with an open lake, and various kinds of trees. Southern Lake Park covers an area of 52 hectares, of which the surface area of the lake was 12.58 hectares.

The park was founded in 1938, formerly known as Bayous Lake Park. In 1946, the government of the city changed its name to Southern Lake Park. After the liberation of Shenyang, Southern Lake Park got a new life, and it has received great development. The Park is divided into four scenic areas: Lakes area, northern areas, the southern area as well as a children’s playground area.

Therefore, this Park is very suitable for the whole family to come. Adults could try to enjoy the beautiful lake view while the children would be thrilled by the funny playground. Actually, this also matches with the design of the park.

When visiting the park, you would be able to get rid of the busy city life. Inside the park, there would be a lot of beautiful birds as well as some beautiful plants. When you look at these natural animals or plants, you would feel very relaxed. In the park, you would hardly be able to hear some urban noises such as the noises of the cars. Instead, you would be able to hear the birds’ sounds. Therefore, if you are fed up with the packed itinerary, you are surely welcomed to visit this Park.

Of course, you have to be reminded that there would be no air-conditioning in this park. During summer time, it might be quite hot, and if you are not comfortable with the life of sweating here and there, you should think twice before going to the park. The entrance fee of this park is very affordable, and would not pose a problem on you. Therefore, you could actively consider visiting this park when you are in Shenyang.
