Qingdao Christ Church (in simplified Chinese??????)is located in Qingdao City’s Jiangsu Road. In Qingdao, it is actually one of the most famous religious buildings. Originally, it was built for the Germans to have weekly worship in Qingdao. It was founded in April 19, 1908 and the construction was completed in October 23, 1910, which lasted nearly two and a half years. It was partly because Christian was quite new in China at that time so a lot of time was needed for the German designers to communicate with Chinese construction workers in order to build a Christian style building.
The Christ Church is a typical German castle architecture, and it contains a lot of German building styles. The use of clear and concise lines as well as the thick solid walls and granite semi-circular arched window frames give people a very comfortable feeling. More than that, the church uses steep red roofs and green roofs, which give a unique sense of beauty for Christians.

The Church is composed of two parts, the clock tower and the church hall. The clock tower is 39.10 meters high, and if you climb up to the tower, you would be immediately attracted by the impressive beauty of the sea and the sky. The giant clock tower’s clocks would give the church some mysterious and solemn feeling.

The other part, which is the bright and spacious hall, can accommodate thousands of people. It is 18 meters high on both sides of the hall and it is divided into two very beautiful and elegant parts with the use of some decorations. It is actually quite common in Christian art of architecture. The plaza in front of the church is widely flat and it is surrounded by trees and the trees are distributed around the various Western-style buildings, bringing out the magnificent feeling of the churches as well as other tall buildings nearby.
Christian church is very active in religious activities. Every Sunday, a lot of Christians would come to meet in the church, and to pray silently.
