Aishan
Aishan (in simplified Chinese ??) is located at the southern tip of Penglai Town, which is 42.6 kilometers away from Penglai city. It has the highest peak among mountains nearby, which is 814 meters above sea level. The peaks of Aishan are very tall and straight. When you look from a very distant place, you would see that the peaks would arrange like a penholder. The mountains of Aishan go along the east-west mountain ranges, and it is quite special. During fine days, if you climb up the hill, you would be able to see clear view of Penglai, Longkou, Qixia Towns as well as the sea scenery of Bo Huang.
On the mountain, there are a lot of trees as well as a lot of other great resources like some rare fruits and wildlife. In April 1949, Aishan Forest Farm was set up, which is also known as Tai Om Forest, covering an area of 4591 mu. This farm is including black locust trees, pine, black pine, larch, chestnut, apple, walnut, etc., which covers 84.6% of the species found in the forest. In 1991, the forest was classified as a provincial nature reserve.
At the northern part of Aishan, there are historical sites of Eighth Route Army as well as some weapons factories, in addition to Biandantang stone, honeycomb stone, rock boots, Tongtian attractions. In recent years, at a good ecological environment, beautiful forests, mountains river flows, air free, pleasant atmosphere, Aishan has become very famous in Qingdao and every year it attracts many tourists to the sightseeing.
As you might have seen above, Aishan is more than just a mountain. There are some historical remains in Aishan which would widen your horizons. If you are interested in learning more about Chinese history, you could try to visit Aishan. If you would like to know more about the previous Qingdao, you could try to visit these remains.
When visiting Aishan, you would bear in mind that you should bring enough food or drinks with you because the backup there on the mountain top is not very adequate.
